Don’t you love when someone says this phrase flippantly without much thought. I know we’ve all thought it and said it to friends with meaning and sincerity. “Everything happens for a reason”
Honestly, much of life and the majority of the bad things that happen in our life we will never understand.
I had a good friend recently lose his wife at a young age of 57. I can’t imagine walking in his shoes even for a moment and can’t understand what he is going through. It doesn’t make sense. It probably never will to us here on earth.
When we read Philippians 1:12-14 it says-
“Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.”
